The People Speak at the Atlanta Film Festival
Sustenance Group members Nancy Bauer, Angela Harvey and Kristi Wooten attended the opening night of the Atlanta Film Festival on April 16, which included a screening of the documenatry film The People Speak, based on the writings of historian/activist Howard Zinn and his book, The People’s History of the United States.
As ONE members, we teamed with Amnesty International to provide white bands and information about social activisim in goodie bags handed out to the event’s more than 600 attendees. (Blog post here.)
Before and after the film, we spoke to Zinn, congressman John Lewis, producer Chris Moore, musician Eddie Vedder, and actor Josh Brolin about social activism.
Look for an essay from Kristi Wooten about Zinn this November.
