Stephanie Jolluck and Coleccion Luna project mentioned on C-SPAN
Sustenance Group’s Stephanie Jolluck, owner of Coleccion Luna, received a shout-out from Rep. Nita Lowey (D-NY) on March 11 during a C-SPAN interview about International Women’s week.
Coleccion Luna, founded in 1999 by Jolluck, is a designer accessories collection created in Guatemala from recycled Indigenous clothing – “huipiles” (blouse like garments), “corte” (skirts/utilitarian fabric), “faja” (belts) that are hand-woven, hand-embroidered, woven on a backstrap loom, woven by treadle loom, or machine embroidered. Together with Jolluck, the artisan women she employees craft the goods in the comfort of their homes and when they have free time, which allows them time to work other jobs and tend to their family responsibilities. Coleccion Luna donates a portion of proceeds to nonprofits such as CARE , Safe Passage , & Off the Mat, Into the World.
