Melinda Gates is the Star of UN Week
Melinda Gates spent much of UN Week in an SUV crisscrossing Manhattan to appear at events such as the Social Good Summit (SGS), the Clinton Glonal Initiative (CGI), meetings at the United Nations and more. In the past 14 years since the Gates Foundation began, Melinda Gates has become one of the strongest voices on the global stage for girls and women and public health. In both her chat with Robin Roberts at SGS and her one-on-one with Hillary Clinton at CGI, she talked about the Gates Foundation's work to give women (and men) access to family planning, which would allow families to spread out or postpone births in order to maximize resources, further education and provide for their families economically.
